In this article, we provide insights into the varying effectiveness of diversity initiatives within academic departments, focusing on their impact on Black faculty in engineering and computing disciplines. Our study categorizes departmental environments as stagnant, moderate, or transformative in their efforts towards diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
